Form 2290 is typically due by August 31st for those that operates from July 1 to June 30.
Note: For the 2019-2020 tax year, the due date for paying HVUT and filing Form 2290 will be September 3rd. If the vehicle’s first used month was any month other than July, Form 2290 must be filed by the last day of the
month following the vehicle’s first used month.
Taxes for each vehicle must be calculated and paid for by the specified due date.
Form 2290 is used by truck owners with one or more heavy highway motor vehicles that have a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more to pay and report taxes for the usage of trucks on any public highway during the period of July 1st through June 30th for each tax year.
