The IRS receives tax payments through the following methods:
Electronic Funds Withdrawal - Funds are automatically withdrawn by the United States Treasury in 24-48 hours (1 or 2 business days).
EFTPS - Once the return is accepted you can log in to your EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System) account and complete the required payment.
Check/Money Order - When using this method, it is recommended that payments be sent before the deadline or prior to the last day of the month following the first used month to avoid IRS penalties. The address to send your check is located on the payment voucher.
Credit/Debit Card - The IRS recommends make credit/debit payments prior to the last day of the month following the vehicles first used month. Taxes due can be paid using a credit or debit card through the Official Payments website (IRS-Approved Third-Party Credit Card Payment Processor).
